The population of Gold Coast City is predicted to double to 1.2 million by 2050 according to leading Australian futurist and demographer Bernard Salt.

A large portion of the growth is expected to occur in the central and western corridors around Robina.

Urbis predicts that by 2050:

  • Robina / Varsity will be the highest contributor to the economic growth of Gold Coast City with 24.6% of the City’s Growth Regional Product Growth
  • Jobs in Robina / Varsity will grow from 29,085 to 41,730, thereby doubling the area’s share of Gold Coast City’s total employment
  • Robina / Varsity will become the largest office precinct in the City, the area currently has the highest volume of occupied office space of any Gold Coast City precinct
  • Significant development of Bond University will grow the university by more than 125%, furthering its national and international contribution in the fields of Law, Medicine, Health Sciences, Sports, Information Technology and Sustainable Development


The number of health care and social assistance workers will increase by 195%, Robina / Varsity is already home to two hospitals, with a third under construction.


Robina is a proven growth location, consistently outperforming the rest of Gold Coast City and many other Australian cities.

Not only highly sought after, Robina property commands premium rental returns. Median rent for a 3 bedroom townhouse in Robina is 18% higher than Gold Coast city and 43% higher than Queensland as a whole. *
