Site preparations on the Vue Terrace Homes site are making great progress, thanks to the great weather we’ve been having here on the Gold Coast and, of course, the busy team at Shadforths Civil Contractors who are undertaking the site works for Robina Group.
Works on site currently involve the placement of a ‘geo-grid’ layer which sits on top of the natural ground surface and provides a rigid mat upon which the imported fill and gravels are placed.
The geogrid strengthens the building platform and also prevents the newly placed imported fill and gravel from mixing with the natural ground.
All imported materials are placed and rolled and compacted in layers under engineer supervision to ensure their strength for use by the builder when constructing the podium.
The final surface for the whole of Vue Terrace Homes will be clean, imported gravels. This top layer will be laid with slight falls so that rainfall sheds off into the bio-basin stormwater treatment system, which is also currently under construction.
Once the site works are complete, we will see the podium start to come up out of the ground and once that is complete, construction of the terrace homes will be able to commence. From its elevated vantage point, the Vue Terrace Homes will overlook Robina City Parklands, which wrap right around the community.
The recent announcement of the $10million upgrade of Robina City Parklands, as part of the Green Heart parkland project, will mean that future Vue residents will have direct access into a world-class central city park to enjoy year-round.
